How to install WordPress on hostgator

I believe you have already bought Hostgator webhosting account, if you are planning to buy then you can read my following posts –

2) Before going through the above registration process, have a look at hostgator coupon codes to get discount during web hosting account setup.

Lets start with main topic “installation of WordPress on Hostgator”-

Step 1: Go to cpanel, it would be at www.yourdomainname.com/cpanel, Login with your credentials.

Step 2: In the welcome cpanel screen, you would find a screen with various categories. Go to “Software/Services” and click on “Fantastico De Luxe” as shown in the below screenshot.

Step 3: In the next screen, click on “WordPress” on the left sidebar as shown below-

Step 4: Go ahead and click on “New installation”. It will further ask you for email-id, user-name, Password, Blog URL etc. Enter all the details and click on “Finish installation”. Whatever user-name and password,you would enter here will be your username and passowrd for wordpress login.

Step 5: Go to WordPress at www.yourdomainname.com/wp-admin and enter your credentials,which you would have got in Step 4 during WordPress installation. That’s it, now you are in WordPress Dashboard. You can now install WordPress themes or even build a theme by yourself. Don’t forget to check out WordPress plugins  it can save lot of time and efforts and can do wonders for your website or blog.
