I don’t know why but I really like to write articles on search engine optimization, today I will share a off page seo checklist, which you can refer for off page search engine optimization. I would say that off page search engine optimization is more important than on page seo, because while doing this we should be very careful to avoid any penalty. This is where you can do mistakes unknowingly, which can affects your overall ranking because of search engine penalty.
My Off page SEO checklist
Before you start working on off page search engine optimization, I want to suggest you to avoid any black hat methods. Some of the black hat service provider may promise you to give quick benefits. However I suggest you to keep your hands out of such services, they will only cause penalty. In the beginning you may see an improvement but I bet you that it won’t be last longer, sooner or later it would get caught by search engine and then you know, what would happen after that!!

Lets start with off page seo methods one by one-
1) Build quality dofollow backlinks
First and very efficient method for off page optimization is to build quality dofollow backlink. I have already shared about these a lot in my previous posts. You can checkout my following posts to understand these terms better and to know the tricks, which you can use to build such links superfast.
2) Take advantage of social networking sites
You can take advantage of social networking sites such as Google plus, Facebook and twitter to promote your content. In fact Google search algorithm also considers social signals while ranking a webpage so its high time to be active on them. If you are already active on them then it’s good but if you are not then I would suggest you to first build a Good community of followers, those who are interested in your niche and then share useful posts with them. It will also help to bring traffic to your blog.
3) Increase RSS feed subscriber
The more number of subscriber you have, the more targeted traffic you will get. I would suggest you to place a subscription box in your sidebar so that the readers who loves to visit your blog, can subscribe to your feeds. This way whenever you publish a new post, your loyal readers will get to know about it and you will get a visit from your regular reader. isn’t it good? It is always good if you have few targeted visitors rather than huge number of one time visitors. If you are a newbie and not using any feed service then I would recommend you to give a try to free feedburner service, you can also refer my post how to add feedburner email subscription box to WordPress.
4) Google analytics
Track your ranking with Google analytics and optimize your post for the keyword, for which your webpage is ranking higher in search engine. Sometimes weird things happen, we optimize the post for some other keyword but our webpage gets good ranking for some other keyword phrase, for which we didn’t even think about. So its better to track keywords ranking in Google analytics.
5) Blog commenting
I think everybody is aware of this term so I don’t need to elaborate this, sigh!! Comment on blogs/websites in same niche.
6) Guest posting
Writing guest post is a very effective way to build quality backlink. At the same time its a good source of traffic too.Its a time consuming approach but yeah it’s 100% full proof and you can be very sure that any of the Google updates such as panda, penguin etc would not hit you in future.
7) Dofollow forums posting
We do not recommend this method now as it can cause google penalty on your site, as these links are not useful for users and mostly used by the spammers.
Read my post dofollow forums list. There you can find list of dofollow forums and forums posting guidelines and tips.
